WSAA is sad to advise that earlier this morning Ross Young passed away. Ross was Executive Director of WSAA from 2003 to 2011.
Ross will be very fondly remembered as an executive of Melbourne Water for many years and a thought leader for the national water industry, particularly during the Millennium Drought and also with the advent of the National Water Initiative.
He was a passionate supporter of WSAA members and had one of the quickest wits you would ever find from someone on his feet.
Ross was also loved and revered by many on the international stage, with long standing friendships across the globe through the Global Water Research Coalition.
Our thoughts are with his family.
A memorial service will be held for Ross on Friday 30 November at St Johns Anglican Church Malmsbury at 2.30pm followed by a gathering for Ross’ friends, colleagues and family at Malmsbury Town Hall in Malmsbury Gardens. Those attending can wear something blue or green on the day to reflect Ross' great passion for water and trees.
