As part of the Next Gen Urban Water Paper this case study showcases the work by Queensland Urban Utilities using a nutrient offsets mechanism to improve the Logan River in lieu of a nutrient removal upgrade of the Beaudesert Sewage Treatment Plant. The work has resulted in benefits to the community and provided better value for money for customers.
