This appraisal is for a range of Daemco Xcel DN 63 to DN 315 couplings and flange adaptors with restrained flexible mechanical joints for PE pipe. This Issue 4 is a replacement for the previous version of the appraisal which had reached its 5-year expiry date.
The mechanical joint consists of an EPDM elastomeric seal and gunmetal gripper ring, which is secured by a bolted gland. The maximum allowable joint deflection is 1.5 degrees.
The ductile iron components are polymeric coated and the fasteners are Grade 316 stainless steel.
The couplings and flange adaptors are rated as PN16. No pipe stiffener insert is required for PN12.5 or higher rated pipes.
