This appraisal is for a range of AVK SUPA MAXI wide tolerance restrained joint couplings, end caps and flange adaptors with PN16 classification and PE transition couplings with PN10 classification.
The range of fittings includes sizes from DN 50 to DN 300.
The sleeve (body) is manufactured from polymeric coated ductile iron and the flexible brackets (end rings) are manufactured from polymeric coated carbon steel. The seal is EPDM and the fasteners are Grade 316 stainless steel. The gripping segments are manufactured from two metals: copper alloy and hardened stainless steel.
The patented SupaGrip sealing system is a restrained joint intended for coupling various pipe materials including DI, AC, CI, PE and steel with a wide range of outside diameters. Sealing is accomplished by tightening a number of axially located Grade 316 stainless steel fasteners from the sleeve side of the coupling. The design of the SupaGrip incorporates grip segments mounted with pins on the flexible bracket segments. When the bolts are tightened the bracket segments move inwards securing the elastomeric gasket around the pipe while the grip segments grip into the pipe surface. The allowable angular deflection of the joint is ±4 degrees at each end.
