This Appraisal is for a range of PN16 dismantling joints in sizes from DN 80 to DN 750. The dismantling joints are manufactured from polymeric coated ductile iron. Other components are Grade 316 stainless steel fasteners and an EPDM seal. The dismantling joints are compatible with AS/NZS 4087 PN 16 flanges.
Dismantling joints are commonly utilised in flanged pipelines to facilitate the removal of a valve, pipe or fitting for maintenance or replacement purposes.
The AVFI dismantling joint range includes the following:
- AFD10 Series restrained joint where end to end tie rods provide restraint and also activate sealing mechanisms for the DJ and both flanged joints. DN 80 to DN 750.
- AFD10 Series unrestrained joint where tie rods are installed through the adjacent flange to activate the sealing mechanism for the DJ and flanged joint. The other flanged joint is assembled normally. DN 80 to DN 750.
- AFD20 Series restrained joint where end to end tie rods provide restraint and activate the sealing mechanisms for both flanged joints. Separate tie rods are screwed into the adjacent flange to activate the DJ sealing mechanism. DN 100 to DN 750.
- AFD20 Series unrestrained joint where tie rods are screwed into the adjacent flange to activate the sealing mechanism for the DJ. Both flanged joints are assembled normally. DN 100 to DN 750.
