An opportunity for a Program Coordinator has arisen within the WSAA team. This position, based in Melbourne, is a mid-level position within WSAA reporting to the Asset Management Program Coordinator. The position is responsible for the coordination of three projects related to optimising the longevity of buried pipe infrastructure. The role encompasses oversight of the project under guidance from the Steering Group and is responsible for administration, project reporting, and accounting.

We are seeking a professional with approximately 10 years' experience for a full-time, 12-month contract with the potential for a further 2-year extension. The person should be an energetic, people-oriented, self-starter with experience in the water industry or a related sector. We offer the opportunity to build a strong network across the Australian water sector, support water utilities and their customers through collaboration, and assist in addressing a contemporary issue in the water industry.

Salary will be based on level of experience. 

You will need to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, applied science or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated project management ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with people, understand their needs and requirements and deliver outcomes that meet those requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes in a timely manner through influencing others without direct authority.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to develop a strong network of contacts within water utilities, other industries, service providers and research partners.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the urban water research environment is desirable but not mandatory.
