Smart WaterMark’s recent consumer research on Australian's relationship with water showed that most Australians are on autopilot when it comes to their household water use

Smart WaterMark will launch the One Bucket Challenge during World Water Week in August 2020 to increase Australia’s water literacy, improve householder water behaviour and identify significant domestic leaks and meter problems. They are partnering with water utilities and councils to encourage 9 million Aussie households to take part. Participants will have just one bucket of water from 5 pm till 5 am – no taps, no showers – no running water.

The initiative aims to make participants aware of the amount of times they reach for the taps in their homes. Smart WaterMark's research suggests when participants see how often they use it, and understand how much they use, they are more likely to want to use it more efficiently.

Smart Approved WaterMark are seeking partners to support the challenge. Contact Chris Philpot at chris.philpot@smartwatermark.info for more information.
