Following the success of our Young Utility Leader Brendan Moore’s Pride in Water pitch which won him the WSAA Ross Young Scholarship, a co-design workshop was held in Melbourne this month and hosted by VicWater.
The workshop was attended by 25 organisations over five states and opened with Brendan and Jacquie Moon (co-founder of Pride in Water) talking about their idea of LGBTIQ+ inclusion and the challenges facing LGBTIQ+ people in the water industry. Small groups worked together to understand the problem, explore causes and solutions and identify and prioritise what’s needed to support and sustain Pride in Water into the future.
The workshop is just the beginning of what we hope will be an industry wide collaboration to ensure all LGBTIQ+ people feel safe, included and valued at work. For more information please contact info@prideinwater.com.au or visit the Pride in Water website.
